ITINERARY OF: 10 days tour from Tangier via desert and Essaouira.

  • DAY 1 : TANGER PORT – TETOUAN – CHEFCHAOUEN :

    On the first day of the tour, Odyssey Morocco travel will take you through the Rif mountains and the city of Tetouan, which has been variously referred to as "Little Jerusalem" and "Daughter of Granada." During the Reconquista, many Moorish and Jewish aristocrats were driven out of Andalusia and settled in Tetouan. This allowed them to expand the city. You will discover the history behind the foundation of the Medina as you navigate the Medina's small alleyways. Visit the Souks before we continue the drive to Chefchaouen; which is called "The Blue Pearl" because of its blue walls. Along the way, we will stop to take in the breathtaking scenery of the mountains. Chefchaouen's blue tint dates to the 15th century, when Jews fled the Spanish Inquisition. It is surrounded by a variety of unique shops selling arts and crafts, as well as rooftop restaurants and cafes. Here, you can spend the evening in a relaxing environment while taking in the fresh air and admiring the natural scenery.

  • DAY 2: CHEFCHAOUEN – VOLUBILIS – MEKNES – FES

    Odyssey Moroco Travel driver will pick you up after having breakfast at your hotel in Chefchaouen. Then, drive to Meknes. We will pass by Ouazzan, as we will stops on the way to enjoy the panoramic view, wonderful landscape and spotless air. Our first stop will be in the UNISCO World Heritage of Volubilis, Roman ruins, you will explore it with a local guide as you will have pictures of the stunning partially excavated mosaics, monuments, arches, and columns. The second stope will be in Meknes; explore the beautiful medina and admire its magnificent doors like; Bab Mansour, a huge gate mosaic tile, and the vast Heri es-Souani; a complex once housed stables and food warehouses. Then visit the mausoleum of Sultan Moulay Ismaïl Palace. Later in the afternoon we head to Fes city for the overnight.

  • DAY 3: FULL DAY TO EXPLORE FES WITH A LOCAL GUIDE.

    Today will be dedicated to exploring the spiritual city of Morocco with a local guide. After having breakfast, you will meet your local guide and start to sightsee the old medina from the outside. Admiring a beautiful panoramic view of the medina from the tombs of Merenids. Then continue by discovering the surrounding parts, covering the most important sites inside the city, Admiring the city’s pretty fountains, the mosaic Nejjarine Fountain, Tour the Medersas (Koranic schools), dating back to the 13th century. visiting The Royal Palace Gate, the Jewish Quarter” Mellah” dates back to 14th Century, blue ceramics of the Bab Boujloud gateway and historic mosques, including the Quaraouiyine Mosque, founded by Fatima el Fihri in 859, and the Andalusian Mosque, dating back to 860. Afterward you will wander inside the narrow streets lined with intricately woven Berber carpets, and many other arts and craft objects of Morocco, visit the ceramics Cooperative to see traditional Moroccan crafts, the big Chouara Tanneries, Medersa Seffarin where metal and other decorated architectural masterpieces are made traditionally. Overnight in your Riad.

  • DAY 4: FES- IFRANE - AZROU- MIDELT - MERZOUGA DESERT

    Our driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Fes. Then, we’ll travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop will be in Ifrane “Moroccan Switzerland” to see the Atlas Lion Statue, which was crafted by a German prisoner in exchange for his freedom from the French. After that, we will stop to see the monkeys in Azrou’s Cedar Tree Forest. we'll cross the Middle Atlas Mountains and arrive in Midelt, the world's apple capital, where we have lunch. Then we'll drive to the Sahara Desert and the Tizi N'talghoumte pass (1907m). In the late afternoon we will arrive in the amazing land of sand dunes of Merzouga where you will ride your camel and cross the high Erg-Chebbi dunes. You will enjoy a magnificent sunset on top of a high dune. Back to your hotel, relax and watch the sunset before having dinner at the desert hotel.

  • DAY 5: TODAY WILL BE DEDICATED TO EXPLORE THE DESERT AND CAMEL TREKKING ACTIVITY.

    Today we will go on an explorative journey of the Erg Chebbi desert, the biggest dunes within the desert of Morocco. After breakfast will, we will visit khamlia village, where you will be entertained with Gnawa music (traditional African music) and dance performance. Afterward, we’ll head across the hamada (black desert) towards the village, and site with Berber nomad families in their tent home. and having tea with them. Then, drive to the deep desert where you can see many ocean fossils embedded in desert rock. Then Back to your hotel. After having a rest at the hotel, you will ride your camel and cross the high Erg-Chebbi dunes. You will enjoy a magnificent sunset on top of a high dune. As you will have time to take pictures and watch the sunset before arriving to desert camp. After having delicious dinner, you will be entertained by Berber music played by local nomads under a starry sky. overnight will be at camp.

  • Day 6: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Valley & Gorges – Dades Valley.

    Today you will have to wake up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise. After breakfast and a shower, you will ride your camel back to Merzouga. You will meet our driver and head to Rissani. We will have walk in the largest market (Souk). You will be fascinated by locally made goods and art crafts. Afterward, we travel to Tinghir. Along the way, we can see the ancient irrigation system. In Tinjdad town you will have a stop for lunch. Then, continue to explore the amazing views of Todra Valley and Todra Gorge (1,000 feet deep) with its orange towering cliffs. it is a popular climbing destination. We'll finish the day in the green valley of Boumalne Dades. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel or riad.

  • Day 7: Boumalne – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Atlas Studio – kasbah of Ait Benhaddou-Marrakech.

    After breakfast in your Hotel, we will travel to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah via the Land of Roses and the Road of Thousand Kasbahs. And after that, we will travel to Ouarzazate, known as "the Hollywood of Africa," where we will capture the Kasbah of Taourirte and visit a world-renowned film studio (Atlas studios).  N next stop will be in the ancient Kasbah of Ait-Benhaddou. This fortified walled city, built directly on the caravan route between Marrakech and the Sahara, was a thriving trading post during the 17th century. Ait Benhaddou has appeared in films such as Gladiator and Lawrencrence of Arabia. After we visit the Kasbah, we will take a break for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will continue our journey to Marrakech via the High Atlas Passes. We will stop along the way to take in the breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N'tichka pass (2260m). To arrive in Marrakech in the evening, we will drop you off at your hotel.

  • DAY 8: FULL DAY TO EXPLORE MARRAKECH WITH LOCAL GUIDE:

    Our agency will take you in a sightseeing journey in Marrakech. You will be accompanied with a local guide with whom you will explore the fascinating cultural and historic sites. Such as Saadian tombs, The Bahia Palace, the Ben Youssef Koranic school. visit the Koutoubia tower and the famous Majorelle gardens. Lunch will in one of the local restaurants near the Jamaa Lefna squar. Later, you will wander the largest traditional souk in Morocco. Where you will find traditional clothes, Berber carpets, and much more. You will have free time to play your haggling craft in the old souk of the medina in the evening before going back to your Riad for the overnight.

  • DAY 9 : DAY TRIP TO ESSAOUIRA :

    Today our agency will take in an excursion to the coastal city of Essaouira. it is around 2.5 hours away from Marrakesh. Along the way, you will have a stop to watch the coats climbing the Argan trees as you will have a visit to Argane oil cooperatives, meeting women working on Argane to extract oil from Argan fruits. Afterward, we continue our way to Essaouira or Mogador. You will visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed medieval city of Madina, the Portuguese Colonial architecture of Madina, as well as the Atlantic Ocean-facing S'kala ramparts with their cannons. Essaouira also has a historic port, beautiful beaches with clean sand and a nice breeze, and a wide range of seafood. After that, you'll head back to Marrakech for the evening. Now you can spend the night in your riad!

  • DAY 10: MARRAKECH – AIRPORT:
